🧭 GPS & Navigation

How do I use the GPX files on my Garmin GPSMap 66i?

Our GPX files are optimized for Garmin GPSMap 66i and include routable routes with turn-by-turn navigation support.

Steps to load routes:

  1. Download the GPX file from the homepage using the "Download All GPX" button
  2. Connect your GPSMap 66i to your computer via USB cable
  3. Your device will appear as a removable drive
  4. Copy the GPX file to the Garmin/GPX/ folder
  5. Safely eject the device and disconnect

To navigate a route:

  1. On your device, press Menu
  2. Select Route Planner
  3. Choose Routes
  4. Select the route you want to follow
  5. Press Go to start navigation

Tip: Routes will show green flags at start points and red flags at end points for easy identification on the map.

Will the GPX files work on other GPS devices?

Yes! Our GPX files use the standard GPX 1.1 format and should work with most GPS devices and apps, including:

  • Garmin handhelds (Montana, Oregon, eTrex, etc.)
  • Garmin motorcycle/automotive units (Zumo, etc.)
  • Smartphone apps (Gaia GPS, OnX Offroad, Avenza Maps)
  • Other brands (Magellan, TomTom, etc.)

The files include Garmin-specific extensions for best compatibility with Garmin devices, but these are ignored by other devices which will still read the standard GPX data.

Can I use these tracks on my phone?

Absolutely! Download the GPX file and import it into your favorite navigation app:

  • Gaia GPS - Great for off-road navigation with offline maps
  • OnX Offroad - Popular for overlanding and trail riding
  • Avenza Maps - Good for georeferenced PDF maps
  • OsmAnd - Free and open-source option

Most apps let you import GPX directly from your Downloads folder or via the share menu.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Plans page.

When you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of your billing period
  • You won't be charged again
  • After the period ends, you'll be downgraded to the free Basic plan
  • Your uploaded tracks and data are preserved

πŸ“€ Uploading Tracks

What file formats can I upload?

Track files: GPX format (.gpx)

Photos: JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC

Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM

Photos are automatically converted to WebP format for optimal storage and loading speed. EXIF metadata (camera info, GPS coordinates, date taken) is preserved.

How do I make my tracks public?

By default, all uploaded tracks are private. To make a track public:

  1. Go to your Stats page and find the track
  2. Click "Edit" on the track
  3. Under "Sharing Settings", click "Make Public"
  4. Optionally add a title and description for sharing

Public tracks appear on the homepage map and are included in the composite GPX download.

πŸ“ Live Tracking

How does live tracking work?

Live tracking allows you to share your real-time location with friends and family while you're out on the trail.

  1. Start a live tracking session from the Live Tracker page
  2. Share the provided link with anyone you want to track you
  3. Your location updates automatically as you move
  4. End the session when you're done

Live tracking works best with a cellular or satellite connection (like the inReach feature on GPSMap 66i).
